A.
Cesa2 Contract Services: Lending Library
The CESA 2 AT Lending library provide
materials for school personnel to borrow and use with their
students. It is a cost effective way to provide a way to see
if a tool will work for specific students before the district
buys it from a vendor. This has saved districts thousands of
dollars in inapporiate purchases over the ten years we have
been providing this service. The AT lending library is updated
monthly, often by materials that are requested from teachers
in the field. If you don't find what you want in the online
catelog call and ask if Jill might consider odering it for your
trial use. The materials you request are then sent to you by
way of the CESA #2 van service. You return it to the library
by way of this same effiecient and cost saving method.
Connie
Isackson maintains the library and tracks it's useage. For
questions regarding specific feature match of tools to students
contact Jill Gierach. Otherwise go to the teacher resource
webpage and follow the directions. Click on the link that
will tell you if your district has full access to the AT
lending library resources.

A.T.
Academy
A
support Network developed to increase the capacity of local
districts to provide services and materials to students with
disabilities.
THe
CESA #2 Assistive Technology Academy was developed in 1998 by
Jill Gierach. Its purpose was to create a delivery system for
disseminating information to all 75 school districts. And to
create collegial support around A.T. issues, focusing on best
practices, equipment, training, trends, and research in the
areas of assistive technology and its use with students who
have disabilities. The academy meets once a quarter for training,
sharing of information and development of a delivery model that
connects the schools districts that participate. Currently 18
school districts are participating in the 2003-2004 Academy.
